“Find your own way. You do not have to follow the crowd.”
– Linda Kranz

One in a Million is a project aiming at inducing in children the belief that they are all beautifully unique. There’s only one of them, and whatever their flaws and imperfections may be, they are just beyond compare.

This collaborative visual art project sheds light on the principle of diversity by making a reference to the fish metaphor. Inspired by the illustrated books of Linda Kranz, namely Only one You and You be You, One in a Million encourages  young participants to embrace their own flaws and embrace all of themselves. Linda Kranz follows the encounters of a rockfish through the varying currents of the sea. The deep blue sea is the mysterious world that symbolises life, whilst the currents are a representation of the highs and lows life brings with it.

Teachers of Art have the opportunity to attend the workshops together with their students, or else to assist them in creating the artwork at their respective school’s premises by following the How to Participate guide. Linda Kranz’s books will serve as an inspiration as well as a starting point. All artwork generated by the children will be displayed during the Art of Peace Exhibition, alongside work of renowned local and international artists. The school with the most entries will receive a €100 voucher, whilst each participating school will be receiving a free copy of Linda Kranz’s books – You be You and Only One You.

This event is open only to schools. If interested, kindly fill in the form by clicking here.
