Do you feel like chocolate can control your emotions? In the film ‘Chocolat’ chocolate caused a strange shift in a once quiet village, catalysed by a chocolatier Vianne. CineXjenza uses the medium of film to inspire discussions on science. Chocolat will be screened in collaboration with The Mediterranean Culinary Academy (MCA) at 7pm on the 21 st of April 2020 at Spazju Kreattiv.
Chocolat follows the story of a young mother Vianne in a repressed, quiet French Village, who opens a small chocolaterie just as the 40 days of Lent. Juliette is an expert chocolatier who moves through Europe with her daughter. The chocolate she sells begins to influence the lives of the village people in very interesting ways. She finds a lot of resistance from the mayor until he decides to be vengeful towards her. Michael Camilleri will lead the discussion on the link between chocolate and emotions. Snacks and refreshments will be served during the discussion.
CineXjenza is supported by the STEAM project. It is run by the Malta Chamber of Scientists and S-Cubed, in collaboration with Spazju Kreattiv.
