Shot across nine countries from Greece to Germany, Another News Story chronicles a journey beset by physical deprivation and danger, bureaucratic and political obstacles and thousands of miles of uncertainty. As the refugees wind their way across Europe they are accompanied by a pack of fellow travellers – reporters, camera-operators, producers and news vans. As he travels with the refugees, British director Orban Wallace turns the camera in a new direction: the world’s 24-hour news gatherers in hot pursuit of the breaking story.
The screening is organised by Kopin as part of the EU co-financed project ‘Snapshots from the Borders’, aimed at raising awareness about migration through the “voices” of the communities at the borders of Europe. The screening is part of an awareness raising day organised in almost all capital cities in the EU and includes activities in Freedom Square, Valletta.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with the movie director, Mr Orban Wallace. The discussion will be moderated by Mr Bertrand Borg from the Times of Malta.
