The story of the documentary AS WORLDS DIVIDE started all the way back in 2008, when Australian traveller Rob Henry left a collapsing global economy behind and flew to the Mentawai Islands in search of a more sustainable way of life. Little did he know that his journey would take him to a place where a rich identity and culture were all but forgotten.
Henry’s portrait of a traditional way of life among the tribes-people of these beautiful tropical Islands in Indonesia has been eight years in the making. Nine years later, AS WORLDS DIVIDE gives us a glimpse into the lives of a small community of tribes-people who are still living in the forest. The project is part of a wider endeavour to help Indigenous Mentawai get their cultural education program through a non-profit organisation, the Indigenous Education Foundation (IEF). Watch a film, save a culture. #wafsac
