Active Age Intergenerational Dialogue is a project of Theatre Anon Arts Foundation. Using Action Research and 120 workshop sessions led by a creative facilitator, we reached out and connected members of the older and younger generations through workshops encompassing theatre games, movement, music and reminiscence sessions. The project reached older adults from Day Care Centres and Homes and students from Agenzija Żgħażagħ, University of Malta – Gerontology, and MCAST.
A space was created for mutual learning and inclusion, promoting a greater understanding and respect between generations and communities, contributing towards community development and social justice. We asked the older adults ‘What would you tell your younger self?’ Their answers form the basis of this installation which uses the symbolic image of the tree. Through this project, we hope to generate broader dialogue.
This project was funded by Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation , supported by the Active Ageing & Community Care Directorate. It ran from 2015-2017.
